Cast members shooed parade attendees away from the malfunctioning float, and a Disney employee extinguished the flames.
A dragon float involved in a parade at Disney's Magic Kingdom caught on fire on Friday. Photos and videos taken by park visitors show the contraption's upper portion bobbing up and down, engulfed in flames. "...the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade is a thrilling sight-and-sound spectacular that winds its way through the streets of Magic Kingdom park each afternoon". The parade went past us and the mechanical Dragon was all good until it burst into flames! "The dragon was not looking the best after as you can see", one visitor wrote on Twitter.
The dragon is a regular features the theme park, occasionally rearing its head and blowing smoke and fire into the air.
No one was hurt and workers put out the flames quickly, according to Fox 13.
The dragon is usually operated by a park employee, stationed near the base of the neck.
Disney officials say they are still trying to figure out what went wrong.
