Cardiff promoted to English Premier League

Cardiff City will be playing Premier League football again next season after a goalless draw against Reading on the final day of the regular Championship season saw Neil Warnock and his side clinch automatic promotion.

Warnock said: "We are not going to change things drastically".

"But I got offered a contract from Oldham to sit on the bench and I did it".

It was at this time that the Oldham offer came up and Etheridge signed a two-month deal at Boundary Park before he joined Charlton on a short-term contract. I was close to the goalkeeping coach there, so I just trained as hard as I could and waited. It's not rocket science, although I'm sure we will be odds-on favourites to be relegated as far as the bookies are concerned.

Wolves have been confirmed as winners, with one round of matches to go this afternoon.

Cardiff owner Vincent Tan has said that funds will be made available for Warnock, but they are both now enjoying the celebrations after promotion was confirmed. You knew you'd get criticised at times in certain games, but you can only work with what you've got.

"He'll admit himself we don't always play the prettiest, but we come out with results in a results-based industry".

Neil Warnock reflected on the "best job" of his career as he celebrated Cardiff City's return to the Premier League.

Etheridge had an impressive nineteen clean sheets for Cardiff City in the 2017-2018 EFL Championship season. I am so proud of them.

Not that Etheridge is bothered about any negative vibes on the back of what has been a landmark season for club and country, with Cardiff's promotion following hot on the heels of the Philippines qualifying for the Asian Cup in March.
