It's a miracle! Today, Netflix unveils a first look at season four of the Emmy-nominated Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt with photos and a sneak peak at the opening sequence of the first new episode of the beloved series.
It followed the life of a naive woman who was freed after spending 15 years in a doomsday cult - and how she adjusts to her new life after moving not NY.
You may not be able to break Kimmy Schmidt, but you can't keep her on the air forever.
There is a new theme and direction for Kimmy this year. The second half, which features seven episodes, will be released at an undisclosed date.
It sounds like there are "talks" of a wrap-up movie after the series ends. Plus, check out pics of the new season! So perhaps her story really is reaching a conclusion.
The series was the first original half-hour comedy show that the streaming site premiered, and it became and an immediate classic. It was originally planned for NBC, the first post-30 Rock project for Fey and fellow showrunner Robert Carlock, but the sister studio and Netflix hammered out a then-unprecidented deal to move it over to the streamer ahead of the premiere.
Creator Tina Fey also appeared several times in the show, once as a prosecutor and later as a therapist to Kimmy. Nevertheless, Kimmy's upcoming season 4 will mark the end of its run, although there is a bit of a twist in store for fans.
Fans are definitely going to miss Kimmy (Ellie Kemper) and the gang, especially Titus Andromedon (Tituss Burgess), bus also Jacqueline White (Jane Krakowski), Lillian Kaushtupper (Carol Kane), and the supporting cast.
