Tina Fey's musical "Mean Girls" leads the way with a dozen Tony Award nominations, with a couple of those nominations going to members of the University of Michigan's School of Music, Theatre & Dance.

Meanwhile, Angels in America swept the nominations as well for Best Revival of a Play, Best Original Score, Best Lead Actor (Andrew Garfield), two nominations for Best Featured Actress, Best Scene Design, Best Costume Design, Best Lighting Design, Best Direction and Best Sound Design.

The show's only nods aside from Best Musical were Best Book for Jennifer Lee and Best Score for Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. She's been nominated for an Emmy numerous times and won a Career Achievement Award in 2003 from the Costume Designers Guild.

Along with Park and Louderman, UM Music Theater alum Alexander Gemignani earned a Tony nomination Tuesday for Best Performance by an Actor in a Musical for "Rodgers & Hammerstein's Carousel".

Other British imports, Farinelli And The King, starring Oscar victor Mark Rylance, was nominated for five gongs and Tom Stoppard play Travesties, starring Tom Hollander, for four. Those musicals are up for 11 nominations each.

The best play revival category is filled by "Angels in America", "Three Tall Women", "Lobby Hero", "Travesties" and "The Iceman Cometh".

Ridloff will be competing against Amy Schumer, who made her Broadway debut in Steve Martin's comedy "Meteor Shower"; and Glenda Jackson from "Three Tall Women" and Condola Rashad in "Saint Joan". Carousel was nominated for Best Revival of a Musical against My Fair Lady and Once on This Island, while Angels in America is up for Best Revival of a Play.

Other nominees include Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Junk, Latin History for Morons, Fairnelli and the King, and The Children for Best Play.
