Fortnite Battle Royale: Season 4 release date officially confirmed by Epic Games

Epic Games has announced that Fortnite Season 4 will commence May 1, 2018.

Alongside the previous teaser images, the new image released to coincide with the announcement also seems to indicate that players will be getting superhero skins of some variety to coincide with the new season, which seems like a good fit with a certain massive superhero blockbuster film now in theaters. It certainly looks like the rubble of something that's been destroyed, something we'll have to look forward to when the meteor that's supposedly falling to the ground finally does fall.

Of course, with Season 3 ending it means Season 4's surprises are right around the corner.

Fortnite season 4 release date has been confirmed by Epic Games, with the start time for the Battle Pass update taking place tomorrow. Where it'll crash, however, is anyone's guess.

Epic Games made the announcement via the official Fortnite Twitter account and included the image above.

The beginning of Season 4 should also mark the end of the meteor saga for Fortnite. It's hard to see if they are wearing anything new, but the image is definitely suggesting that the meteorite impact could introduce a lot of new items into the game.

The meteor is expected to hit Dusty Depot. This likely refers to the comet that appears to be heading straight for the Battle Royale map.

Following the most recent Fortnite update last week, dataminers have been looking into the new files for clues about potential changes to the game. These could be the heroes we've seen teased in images leading up to the Season 4 release date reveal.

While the Fortnite season 4 teaser artwork has so far hinted at a superhero theme, the latest promo has shaken things up. Is this the last day we'll be able to drop at Tilted Towers?
