Trump warns Russian Federation to 'get ready' for USA missile strikes on Syria

Donald Trump has warned Russian Federation to "get ready" for a USA missile strike in Syria in response to the alleged chemical weapons attack in the country four days ago.

Mr Trump described Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad as a "Gas Killing Animal" and said the US's relationship with Russian Federation was worse than it had ever been in history in a series of furious tweets posted this evening.

Trump has been weighing another strike on Syria after the country's president Bashar al-Assad conducted a suspected chemical attack on the rebel-held city of Douma Saturday.

The tweet drew a quick response from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with spokeswoman Maria Zakharova saying on Facebook that "smart" missiles would destroy any evidence of a suspected chemical weapons attack.

Mr Trump on Tuesday cancelled a planned trip to Latin America later this week to focus instead on responding to the Syria incident, the White House said. "We need all nations to work together", President Trump Twitted.

In 2017, Russian Federation considered the USA attack to be a proportionate response and told Assad to absorb it without retaliating, the former official said.

The Russians cautioned the USA against striking Syria as it had done after the Assad regime's deadly Khan Sheikhoun chemical attack in 2017.

"President Putin, Russia and Iran are responsible for backing Animal Assad", Trump tweeted.

Theresa May is reportedly moving submarines towards Syria, and may authorise a military strike without a vote in Parliament.

"Whatever happens next has to abide by global law", Swedish U.N. Ambassador Olof Skoog told reporters on Wednesday, referring to US plans for military action.

Russia's military has propped up Assad's regime as it wages a multiway war against both the so-called Islamic State and various antigovernment forces. Washington argued it was attacking Islamic State in Syria to eliminate a threat to Iraq, the United States and its allies.

Meanwhile, The Telegraph has reported that British submarines are being moved within "missile range" of Syria - and that military action could start on Thursday night.

"If there is a strike by the Americans, then...the missiles will be downed and even the sources from which the missiles were fired", Zasypkin told the Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Manar TV channel.
