Kevin Durant Will Reportedly Restructure Contract With Warriors

Another NBA Finals victory would be the second of Durant's career and second since he's played for Golden State.

Additionally, Iguodala, despite having missed six of the Warriors' last seven games, should be able to play in Game 1 of the playoffs, according to Kerr.

Kevin Durant will enter the free-agent market this offseason but likely won't be available for long.

Because of this, Durant signed a two-year contract worth $53 million, with a player option for the third year. Durant would make $26.3 million if he opted in, and Haynes noted that figure was low "for a player of his caliber".

ESPN Front Office Insider Bobby Marks dissected Durant's options for this upcoming offseason. Drew Shiller of NBC Sports Bay Area reported Wednesday that ESPN's Zach Lowe said on Lowe's podcast that some coaches and GMs expressed that they would rather face the Warriors in the first round than the Jazz or the Oklahoma City Thunder. There are several options for Durant and the Warriors, including another two-year deal or a four-year max contract valued at around $158 million. If he wants to leave his options open, giving himself the opportunity to become a free agent again in the near future, he may opt for a two- or three-year deal.

The contract included a player opt-out provision after the 2017-18 season, and it appears Durant will exercise his option.

The Warriors and Spurs met last May in the Western Conference Finals, with the Warriors sweeping the series in four games.

Golden State is much better set up to handle the absence of Curry than the Spurs are to handle the absence of Leonard. He quietly put together a season every bit as stellar as previous year, averaging 26.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists, while making 51.6 percent from the field and 41.9 percent from the 3-point line (he shot 88.9 percent from the foul line, leaving him five free throws short of the coveted 50-40-90 threshold).

With Curry out, it's up to Kevin Durant to play like a superstar.
