Comey: John Kelly called Trump "dishonorable" for firing me

In a preview of the interview released by ABC, host George Stephanopoulos mentions the mob boss reference.

The RNC plans to use a website, digital ads and television surrogates to discredit Comey.

"James Comey's publicity tour is a self-serving attempt to make money and rehabilitate his own image".

The RNC will employ a war room to monitor Comey's TV appearances and have a rapid response team poised to rebut every assertion that's critical of the president, the Post reports.

Mr Comey has faced criticisms from the Democratic party too, after he announced the Federal Bureau of Investigation would be further investigating Hillary Clinton, the party's presidential nominee, shortly before the 2016 election. "If Comey wants the spotlight back on him, we'll make sure the American people understand why he has no one but himself to blame for his complete lack of credibility".

A senior White House official disputed Comey's characterization of the phone call with Kelly, saying that Kelly has maintained that the call was brief-roughly a minute long-and that the gist was, "I don't know why you got fired, [and] best of luck to you", according to the official.

CNN reported on Thursday that the White House has approved the website, whose domain name was registered 15 days ago.

Stephanopoulos also brought up Comey's critics who wanted him to put Hillary Clinton before a grand jury, as well as asking him whether Trump "was obstructing justice" and if the president should be impeached.

The former Director spoke of things that he had never said before, the source told Axios news. Later, he asks Comey point blank whether or not Trump should be impeached.
