Robert Griffin III, Ravens agree on one-year contract

We're excited about it.

Head Coach John Harbaugh told a press conference: 'I'm very excited about it, the coaches are excited about it. I feel like we got a steal.

Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome said on Wednesday: "He came in last week, worked out". The Washington Redskins traded three first-round picks and a second-rounder to move up four spots to select him at No. 2 overall, one pick behind Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck.

Griffin signed a two-year deal with the Browns in 2016, and began the year as the starter, but once again was taken down by an injury (shoulder).

Josh Woodrum is the only other quarterback on the Ravens' roster. Injuries and issues with Redskins coaches, however, derailed his time in Washington, leading to his single-season stint in Cleveland, where he signed ahead of the 2016 campaign.

The Baltimore Ravens agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the free-agent quarterback late Tuesday. He was eventually benched for all of 2015 in favor of Kirk Cousins and released by the Redskins in 2016. The 2012 Offensive Rookie of the Year with Washington has been healthy enough to play for just 40 of the 80 possible games in his National Football League career. He started five games, winning only one of them.

As a rookie, Griffin passed for 3,200 yards and rushed for 815 yards in 15 games.
