There were some who were much happier about Kansas' win over Seton Hall in the second round of the NCAA Tournament Saturday than others. Kansas went off as a 4.5- to 5-point favorite in Las Vegas and most of the bettors took the Jayhawks to cover, so pandemonium ensued after that shot. Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk had 16 points, Lagerald Vick scored 13, and Udoka Azubuike added 10 off the bench. Instead, the Jayhawks reached the a regional semifinal for the third straight March. As the Pirates made an end of the game to cut the lead to four, Newman hit a sweet shot from beyond the arc and knocked in two free throws to put the Jayhawks up by six. "You're trying to let the flow of the game come to you instead of playing in it and being aggressive.' At that point, I changed my mindset", Newman said.

Together, they helped the Jayhawks stretch their lead to double digits. When Seton Hall turned it over, KU got exactly the types of boosts it needed.
Coming into the tournament, the Pirates held a 21-11 record.
The Jayhawks will now advance to the Sweet 16 for the 31 time.
