Ubisoft details Far Cry 5 post launch content

Far Cry 5 certainly won't suffer from a lack of content.

The season pass sends players off on three distinct journeys that are a literal far cry from Montana. You'll work to pry control from them over the many hours of play time. The publisher is planning a bevy of post-launch content that'll take players on fantastic adventures.

Players will be dropped into war-torn Vietnam and forced to fight Vietcong, save friends and get out while they still can. Finally, zombies invade in Dead Living Zombies.

During our preview test drive we saw a few different maps - one for a 6v6 Team Deathmatch mode set on a beach covered with buildings and debris imported from past Far Cry locales. Most exciting is the reveal of the Far Cry Arcade, a mode that features custom creations from the community and Ubisoft. What's even better is that FCA will unite assets from Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Unity, and Watch Dogs for players to further their imagination.

The makers of Far Cry 5's map editor are hellbent on giving the game a long and ridiculous life beyond its single-player campaign.

No final details regarding dates have been announced for each of Far Cry 5's DLC releases, but players can reserve their copies by purchasing the Season Pass for $29.99. Do it. "We want to make sure that if you wanted to use [Assassin's Creed] assets, you could", said Dan Hay, Far Cry 5's Creative Director.

The Arcade will be home to a curated slice of player-generated content, alongside official maps. Armed with the map editor, players can create their own playground of chaos for others to enjoy-all of which is instantly accessible any time during the main game. The studio is also coming out with a short film inspired by the game called "Far Cry 5: Inside Eden's Gate", which comes out on Monday, March 5 on Amazon Prime. The season pass content is yet to receive a release window, but we'll let you know as soon as it does.
