Rick Ross Hospitalized and on Life Support Machine Following Cardiac Emergency


USA rapper Rick Ross is reportedly on life at a Miami-area hospital after he was rushed there on Friday, March 2, over heart complications.

TMZ reports that the rapper is now in a Miami area hospital, being treated for heart- and lung-related issues in the cardiac unit.

According to a call made to 911, rapper Rick Ross, 42, has been transported to the hospital after reportedly being found unresponsive in his Florida home.

Earlier reports from this afternoon also claim Rick is receiving a respiratory treatment, possibly for pneumonia.

When help arrived, the rapper became "combative" with the medical staff, which led to the police being called.

Representatives for Ross did not immediately respond to EW's request for comment.

Another source told the site that the hip hop star was reportedly asked to make an appearance Thursday night, but a rep told him the mogul was in the hospital. ECMO is a process which oxygenates a person's blood outside of their body, before being pumped back into their body. Rolling Stone notes that Rick Ross' seizures have been pure exhaustion for the rapper.

In 2011, Ross suffered two seizures within a six-hour period and was hospitalized in Birmingham.
