Unlike the majority of modern first-person games, which are often set in war-torn cities or grater-filled battlefields, Sea of Thieves is a pirate-themed open-world adventure game with a cartoon twist. "There'll never be a form of gambling in Sea of Thieves, of any description".
The assertion doesn't carry over into microtransactions, sadly.
Rare made the point that in many other games of this nature, players often simply stick with the default skin. But hey, if you're like me and you're the kind of gamer who will spend hours and hours customizing your dude or dudette in Fallout 4 until they look ideal, know that Rare doesn't completely remove control from the player.
"We're not out of the woods yet-there's still features I want to get in for launch", says PC design lead Ted Timmins. Neate stated that he wanted to see as many people as possible interested in the game beyond launch, at to that end Rare will be keeping "a very large team" active on the game after it's released. "You'll know what you're getting, so you will be buying something specific". There is also a limited-edition wireless controller for £65, and a bundle with a Sea of Thieves-themed 2TB external hard drive with the exclusive gamepad for £150.
"Going onto Google Trends and looking at Sea of Thieves and watching the spikes throughout the development of the game and seeing where it's at now".
With Sea of Thieves being a live service game and dataminers uncovering a premium shop within it, some were concerned that it would feature pay-to-win mechanics. However, you'll always know exactly what you're buying. The game begins as you find your way to this place for the first time, and from there you will work toward becoming a Pirate Legend.
Sea of Thieves won't have dozens of sliders and dials, allowing you to finely tune the shape of your nose or cheekbones. That goes for our digital business.
"There will be a chance of acquiring them other ways, but we're not going to go, "you can earn everything by playing", the way some people claim, even though you have to play for 60,000 hours or something", Neate says.
