The Reno-Tahoe International Airport announced on Thursday that it is adding a new non-stop flight to Austin on Frontier Airlines.

The Denver-based airline will offer service from Savannah to Philadelphia on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting May 1 and to Denver on Fridays and Mondays starting on May 4.

The growth by Frontier will not come without cuts on other routes, which is not unusual for an airline that has mostly operated seasonally on most of its new flights.

"We are thrilled to welcome Frontier Airlines to Myrtle Beach", said Brad Dean, president and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.

Service will begin in May and flights are available for purchase now at flyfrontier.com with introductory fares as low as $39 each way.

Frontier marks the tenth airline partner for MYR.

Frontier said this is the largest addition of new cities at RDU since 2007. By summer 2018, the company hopes to deliver low-priced fares to 90 percent of their customers.

"Philadelphia is a market that we do very well in with a lot of visitors coming from the north east... now providing low cost, nonstop service to Philadelphia is racking up".

Frontier Airlines also plans to offer new service to Cincinnati, Colorado Springs, Orlando and San Jose in April. "We're offering not only fantastic low fares but a reliable and friendly service that allows customers to customize their travel experience to their needs and their budget".
