Police, family search for missing Houston reporter

According to Houston Police, Roland was last seen around 5 p.m. on Sunday, walking alone in a store in a store at Galleria shopping mall.

Roland's parents are now pleading for information. The roommate said the blue truck looped back around and parked behind her and Roland got out of her vehicle and the truck sped off.

Roland covers Texas A&M athletics for Rivals, a Yahoo!-owned online publication focusing on college sports.

Police in Houston say a passer-by contacted authorities after spotting a missing sports journalist underneath a highway overpass.

Friends and family of Courtney Roland have been posting on social media about her disappearance, hoping to get information on her whereabouts.

Another post, made by a friend of hers, she was anxious "that she was being followed by a blue truck leaving Walgreens".

A Texas sports reporter is missing and there are fears something awful happened. Her purse with an iPad, computer and credit cards were also all found intact somewhere inside the Galleria.

Responding officers found no obvious injuries but arranged for her to be taken to a hospital for evaluation.

Her roommate initially noticed something was wrong when Roland failed to attend a scheduled hangout session they had on Saturday. Last heard wearing Remington hat and camp and in a white Jeep Cherokee.

Her last text message, sent in the early hours of Sunday, suggested she was scared, and mentioned she was being followed by a blue truck after leaving a Walgreens, Vara revealed.

It is not yet clear why Roland disappeared or where she has been during that time.
