USC's Sam Darnold would be 'honored' to play for any National Football League team

Through 11 games this year Rosen threw 26 touchdowns and 10 interceptions for the Bruins to place himself in the conversation for the number one overall pick, officially held by the Cleveland Browns.

In one sense, I can't blame Rosen if he truly doesn't want to play for the Browns, especially if Hue Jackson remains the coach in 2018. A couple of names stands out, including Josh Rosen, Sam Darnold, and Josh Allen, but there is a long time between now and when Roger Goodell goes to the podium with the first overall pick written on his index card. The 2-13 Giants host the Redskins Sunday morning and project to have a top-three draft pick.

The Browns have locked up to the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft for the second straight year.

Well, he appeared to confirm some of the speculation when he told the media, "I'd rather be a lower pick at the right team than a higher at the wrong team", according to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss.

With Kizer not looking like the team's long-term option at quarterback, Darnold would be the ideal addition for Cleveland.

If he does declare, some Browns fans thought he was a sure thing with the No. 1 overall pick. The New York Giants may look for Eli Manning's successor with the No. 2 pick as they're now sitting in that position while the Indianapolis Colts may have second thoughts about Andrew Luck's durability at No. 3.

A few other teams in the top-tier of the draft may also be targeting a quarterback.

It's a bit early to be labeling mock picks as true surprises, but the latest 2018 National Football League mock draft from Bleacher Report pushes that boundary, starting in the top five.
