The Bollywood's desi girl is the only female to make it to the top 10 of India Celebrity 100 list, as per Forbes. The 2017 Forbes India Celebrity 100 List rankings are based on estimates of entertainment related earnings of the celebrities. Even though his previous film, Tubelight, received a lukewarm response at the box office, Salman Khan has managed to retain his appeal and earned a whopping ₹232.83 crore in 2017. The TZH actor earned a total of Rs 232.83 crore while the Fan actor earned Rs 170.50 crore as their earnings were also backed by several consumer product advertisements. Virat Kohli is in third position with Rs 100.72 crore. Shuttler PV Sindhu (₹57.25 crore) was the highest money gainer (in percentage terms) this year in the list, as her total earnings soared almost 17 times following her 2016 Rio Olympics silver medal. This is the second consecutive year when Salman topped the annual Forbes India Celebrity 100 list. She made ₹57.25 crore, thanks to the brand endorsements that came her way after her success at the Rio Olympics. Like Salman, Shah Rukh also saw commercial failure when his Imtiaz Ali directorial Jab Harry Met Sejal bombed at the box-office.
Just on the day when Tiger Zinda Hai hit the theatres, Salman Khan emerges as the Sultan of Indian celebrities. Following him on the list is Badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan, Indian skipper Virat Kohli, Khiladi Akshay Kumar and others.
Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni are the other two Indian cricketers on the list of top 10. Sindhu snared some 16 brand endorsements in the period under review, which helped boost her earnings by nearly 1,600 percent over a year ago.
