Salvation Army finds gold coin in St. Matthews Red Kettle

Deputies say he took the kettle with him, and that's when it was stolen.

Donations to the Salvation Army's campaign include almost $55,000 from the Pipefitters Local 663. "Another reason is because a person that would even think about stealing from a blind individual".

Time's running out for Salvation Army's Red Kettle campaign and they still have a little way to go to reach their goal for the year.

Police are looking at security tapes for a possible suspect.

In Ephrata, red kettles can be found at Safeway and Walmart. "We know that it has been a very hard year for many families in our community, and our prayer is for these families to be blessed this Christmas season and for our resources to be multiplied", said Major Brett Meredith, Area Commander.

The theft happened at 6:30 p.m., according to a press release by the Caledonia Police Department.
