Podcaster Combat Jack, aka Reggie Osse, Dead at 48


The host of The Combat Jack Show podcast revealed his colon cancer battle in October, taking to Twitter to update his fans. He tweeted, "Hip Hop has lost one of its more important historians and voices...we had serious ups and downs but I was so happy we had made things good..." I got hit with some real life sh-. "Rest In Peace to the Legendary Combat Jack", wrote Joey.

The death of the hip-hop pioneer, real name Reggie Ossé, comes months after he opened up about his cancer diagnosis in October.

Meanwhile, star of the Starz drama Power, Naturi Naughton, 33, also mourned the loss of the hip hop icon. Rest easy, Combat Jack.

The Root reported that the podcaster and former lawyer was 48 years old. It's your man Combat Jack. Today I'm still on the mend.

On November 15, Reggie took to Instagram to update his 22.3k followers on his health.

Soon after, Osse offered up his pen to several Hip Hop publications before being brought on board as Managing Editor at The Source Magazine in 2010. Walking is tough bc I lose my breath. "#RaiseTheBar #CombatCancer Let's Go!"

Osse was known in the 1990s as an attorney who represented Jay-Z, Capone-n-Noreaga and Roc-A-Fella records.
