NASCAR's fairy-tale romance apparently is over.
Neither driver could be reached for comment Monday, and Patrick's spokeswoman said the two had requested privacy.
Rumors of a potential split first surfaced in late November, when Stenhouse, 30, attended the NASCAR Cup Series awards solo.
NASCAR's biggest power couple announced a breakup today.
Patrick's relationship with Stenhouse followed her first marriage.
The Pretty Intense author elaborated on the couple's discussion about children, "There'd be days a long, long time ago where I would be thinking in my head, 'I don't want to.' 'I don't want kids.' ..."
TMZ reports that Patrick said in July she "was ready yesterday" to be engaged, but that Stenhouse Jr. had not proposed yet.
The two confirmed they were dating in early 2013.
Last month, Patrick announced she would compete in the 2018 Daytona 500 and 2018 Indianapolis 500 and that would end her racing career. Stenhouse returns to the NASCAR Cup Series fray in 2018 on the heels of his best season yet, one that saw him win multiple races and earn a playoff berth.
