The 13-man selection committee kept the Bulldogs in the top spot following last Saturday's 24-10 win over SC.

While Wisconsin beat a 3-6 IN team, Miami got a signature win against previously-No. Georgia has already won the SEC East. Alabama is in the driver's seat to win the SEC West. Miami leads in the ACC Coastal.

The top five teams this week, as chosen by the 13-member selection committee, were identical to the top five teams a week ago, with Georgia (9-0) holding the No. 1 spot, followed by No. 2 Alabama (9-0), No. 3 Notre Dame (8-1) and No. 4 Clemson (8-1).

The top four teams qualify for the two semifinal games, which will be held at the Rose and Sugar bowls on New Year's Day.

Although the Big Ten had a rough weekend with the Ohio State and Penn State defeats, it had the only two teams to debut in the rankings, as Iowa reached No. 20 and Northwestern (6-3) came in at No. 25. They fell to No. 2 one week later.

Auburn hosts Georgia this Saturday in game that will have an impact on the rankings.

What helps the Sooners and the Horned Frogs' cases to make the playoff, assuming that they meet again in the Big 12 Championship Game, is that the Selection Committee still respects the teams these two Big 12 frontrunners have played. Auburn is also considered No. 10 in both the AP and coaches poll.

"Guys, collectively, aren't really focusing on that", Davis said. Another victory then would very likely make them the first two-loss playoff representative in the young history of this system. "It's going to change".

Other top-10 teams in the poll are No. 5 Oklahoma, No. 6 TCU, No. 7 Miami, No. 8 Wisconsin, No. 9 Washington and No. 10 Auburn.
