Voters head to the polls across the midstate today for off-year election

"In 2013, we achieved a 33 percent total turnout for the entire election".

Minneapolis reported more than 11,000 ballots were accepted as of Monday night.

Waggner said they have only had four people come in to complete same day registration and voting.

Election Protection, the nation's largest nonpartisan voter protection coalition, led by the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, will provide live assistance for voters across the country on Election Day this year.

Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges is in a tight race against 15 challengers, including state Rep.

"It's all over the map", said Schultz. Voter Carol Dreier says she only chose three.

The St. Paul mayoral race was rocked by the backlash from a flier sent out by the now-disbanded third party group, Build a Better St. Paul, that targeted former council member Melvin Carter.

If no candidate wins that majority in the first round, election officials reallocate votes in a series of elimination rounds.

"I am not happy that it's going to take days to find out who won", Dreier said.

St. Paul regulations require a hand count for ranked choice voting. "That was nearly 10 days ago, a political eternity, so I think slightly the chance is for Harris".

As for Minneapolis, results should be quicker.

The 866-OUR-VOTE Election Protection hotline will be answered live on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 5:30 9:30 p.m. EST.
