As if it wasn't already the best night of his life, Carlos Correa made another awesome memory after winning the World Series. He'd originally been planning to pop the question after Game 6, but when the Astros lost, he pushed the plans back a day.
It was a total shock for Rodriguez, who barely let Correa get his "Will you marry me?" question out before leaping from behind a crowd barrier and jumping into his arms, kissing him and screaming, "Oh my God. Will you marry me?" "It's one of the biggest steps of my life, one of the biggest accomplishments of my life and right now I'm about to take another big step in my life".
"I can't really explain it, pretty cool", Gooch said about his experience Friday. I was waiting for the right time to do it. "I didn't have a Plan B so I'm glad we won". Game 7 of the World Series so I never expected to have this on mind.
"I honestly was (surprised)", Rodriguez said.
"The only thing I was talking about during those days was baseball, baseball, baseball", Correa added. For one player, it was an especially magical moment. The Astros beat the Dodgers with a final score of 5-1 in Game 7, clinching the series by taking their fourth-game win over the Dodgers' three-game win. "I was laser-focused on just playing baseball that she would have never thought I was going to propose at that point".
"I knew we had championship potential, so I made a decision to hold out until the last game of the season", Correa said.
When asked if he kept the ring in his pocket during the game, Correa said he didn't because it was "way too big" for his pocket.
