Like the Google Pixel 2's launcher that we reported on earlier today, the guys over at XDA have managed to extract the new Pixel Camera APK for those with the original Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL (running Android 8.0 Oreo or above) to install.
"We've designed our case to be compatible with the latest Google Pixel 2 features, including the new dual camera". Pixel and Nexus owners of other countries will only see the error when going to play store. on the other hand, other device holders are getting an incompatible message on play store. The update also brings some new subtle animations, like the app drawer bouncing off the bottom or top when swiping. It also includes the animated Clock app icon, which now shows the actual time. However, most everything else, including App Shortcuts and the new "at a glance" widget, seems to be working as it should. The Google Search bar is persistent throughout every homescreen though. But with 30 seconds of work and an Android phone, you can pretend like you've got Google's newest flagship, thanks to the release of the Pixel 2 default launcher. Otherwise, it's virtually identical to the old Pixel launcher. This particular functionality existed in numerous camera apps over the years, though the highly automated nature of the Google Camera app's feature makes it a somewhat unique offering; smoothening out your skin textures is as simple as tapping a button and letting the service do the rest while you worry about framing.
