George Strait's benefit concert for Harvey victims to take place Tuesday

Strait is holding a special benefit show in San Antonio, where Texas Gov. Greg Abbott will be, with a lineup including Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton among others.

The one-hour telethon special, which will raise the much needed funds to aid those affected by both Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, will air live and commercial free on Tuesday, September 12 at 8:00pmEDT/7:000pmCDT and re-air at 8:00pmPDT on the West Coast. According to a news release, proceeds from the event will go to the United Way Harvey Recovery Fund, Habitat for Humanity, Save the Children, Feeding Texas, Direct Relief, and the Mayor's Fund for Hurricane Harvey Relief, which is administered by Greater Houston Community Foundation. Houston rap artist Bun B and Scooter Braun, a Hollywood talent manager and founder of SB Projects, are the organizers.

The broadcast will feature appearances, performances, taped tributes and messages from some of the nation's biggest stars including George Clooney, Jamie Foxx, Karlie Kloss, Beyoncé, Matt Lauer, Rob Lowe, Matthew McConaughey, Norah O'Donnell, Dennis Quaid, Julia Roberts, Kelly Rowland, Adam Sandler, Ryan Seacrest, Michael Strahan, Blake Shelton, Strait, Barbra Streisand, Oprah Winfrey and Reese Witherspoon with more to be announced.

It was originally supposed to benefit victims of Hurricane Harvey.

The program will be hosted from three locations: Los Angeles, New York and Nashville. "We're going to put on a great show". Livestreamed versions of the broadcast will also be available via YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, Huffington Post and AOL starting at 8 p.m. EST. "That's our goal - to bring the idea that people care about each other back".
