Arie Luyendyk Jr. Announced As Next 'Bachelor' In Surprise Twist

The news comes from a surprise announcement on today's Good Morning America, where Luyendyk Jr., a race vehicle driver, spoke with Michael Strahan about his pretty low-key casting process.

The announcement was made today on ABC's Good Morning America. As of a year ago, he would still make out with his ex-girlfriend and dark princess of Bachelor Nation Courtney Robertson from time to time. He's handsome and level headed, and he's just a few weeks shy of 36, an age I consider to be appropriate for seeking his future wife. The bachelor and bachelorette were generally chosen from contestants on the most recent season to allow viewers to relate.

Luyendyk Jr.'s season of The Bachelor will premiere in early 2018. You see Arie was nicknamed the Kissing Bandit during his time on the Bachelorette for the number of kisses he stole. I feel like it's my time. Sean Lowe, who was the face of the 17th season, said "the producers that make the show, they wanted Arie" back in 2015. I want to find my person and will do whatever it takes!' the new star of the hit reality TV show explained about what he feels going into it after two years of being out of the spotlight.

"It's been such a quick turn of events and my family doesn't even know", he said.

She liked him too: Emily gushed over him in 2012: "Not only is Arie a gorgeous man, but he has a heart of gold and he's a great kisser!"

Fans also suggested several options from "Bachelor in Paradise" Season 4, from Wells the bartender to Ben Z and his dog Zeus, to a major push for Kristina to go straight to her own season of "The Bachelorette". You know, the one that aired in 2012? And thank goodness, because we could not be more excited about Arie landing the role if we tried!

When Arie was last on the show, he was serious about proposing to Emily, who then broke his heart by choosing Jef Holms.
