Amber Alert issued for missing 3-year-old Worcester girl

When Leeann Rickheit stuffed her car's tailpipe with clothing and left the auto running with both her and her daughter inside, she left a window cracked thinking it would not kill the 3-year-old, she told police in an interview, according to prosecutors.

A MA woman is facing attempted murder charges after apparently kidnapping her daughter and attempting to kill both the girl and herself. "She has a history in the Charlton area was thought to be recently traveling on the Mass Pike in that area", said a spokesperson for Massachusetts State Police.

Troopers said they found Rickheit and her daughter either sleeping or unconscious in the vehicle. "Trooper Keller Williams smashed a window to the vehicle and troopers removed the child and Rickheit from the auto".

Ella's name was redacted from a police report of the incident. Two ambulances were called to the scene and the girl was taken to UMass Medical Center.

Rickheit was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital under police guard.

Members of the department's Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section located the vehicle Rickheit was believed to be driving on the backside of a pond located through the woods behind the Country Store on Stafford Street in Charlton.

"The child is reported to be doing well, " Procopio wrote.

According to the authorities, the baby girl named Ella Abbott's mother Lee-Ann Abbott Rickheit took out her from their home in Worcester, she took her from the home on Wednesday evening around 7:45 p.m. Ella is expected to be with her mother.
