The media outlet claims the former Sunderland midfielder is in advanced negotiations over a move to the Tigers, after being released by the Mackems at the end of last season.

Hull City are closing in on the signing of Sebastian Larsson, according to the Mail Online.

Larsson has spent the last six seasons at the Stadium of Light, racking up over two hundred appearances in all competitions, scoring fourteen goals.

And news of a potential deal for the Sweden worldwide has stimulated quite the response from Hull supporters on Twitter, with some thrilled at the news, yet some are frustrated by the possibility of another free transfer...

He becomes Championship club Hull's seventh summer signing, following the arrivals of Michael Hector, Callum Burton, Ola Aina, Fraizer Campbell, Kevin Stewart and Ondrej Mazuch.

For all intents and purposes, the Sweden global should have been a Levante player this summer, having agreed to a €15m release clause the La Liga side.

"I'm delighted to be here and I am really looking forward to this fresh challenge", he said.

Hull had fielded seven players aged 23 or under in their 1-1 draw with Aston Villa at the weekend, with just half of the match-day squad having tasted football at that level.
