Dramatic rescue of man trapped by floodwaters caught on camera


Crews raced to rescue a man trapped in rushing flood waters in San Antonio.

He then walked up the ladder to the safety of the top of the fire truck. He was reportedly unharmed.

Emergency teams in San Antonio are trying to reach people stranded by intense flooding.

A woman was rescued from her auto near West Commerce Street and West Military Drive, then got swept away when she tried soon afterward to go back for her keys, mysanantonio.com reported.

An officer at the scene said the woman would likely face charges for endangering the lives of first responders.

She was swept downriver and was found in a river bank.

Officials say several homes were evacuated due to the severe weather and residents in low-lying areas are being urged to find shelter.

As of Monday morning, there have been outages affecting more than 21,770 customers in the area, according to CPS Energy.
