Titans look to corner Tamil Thalaivas in opener


Day 1 of the fifth season of Pro Kabaddi will involve a former champion, a former runner-up, a former semi-finalist and one of the four new teams this season. This edition promises to be more fun and an increase in excitement level. Now the Pro Kabbadi Season 5 will witness 12 teams in the League this year. "But, this year, I am eager to get on the mat and prove my mettle", Thongkham reflected.During the Kabaddi World Cup last year, Thongkham led from the front and was one of the best players of the tournament. At Rs 93 lakh, Nitin Tomar turned into the costliest player ever, after group Uttar Pradesh procured his administrations. The matches will be conducted from July 28 to October 28.

Global technology OEM company Smartron announced its partnership with the debutant Chennai-based franchise Tamil Thalaivas as associate sponsors for the upcoming season of Pro Kabaddi league.

Tamil Thalaivas CEO Varun Tripuraneni said, "This is the first time we have a team from Tamil Nadu which is the origin for kabaddi, a local game that became a worldwide sport, and we are really excited about our journey in the Pro Kabaddi League".

The Thalaivas man, on the other hand, is a wily and experienced customer, who has not enjoyed much Pro Kabaddi success, but his abilities can never be doubted and he can often leave defenders hapless with his hand touches and long leaps.

The first match will start at 8:00pm IST, 8:30 PST and the second match begins at 9pm (IST) and 9:30 (PST). Each city will get its own share of opening ceremony as the league moves forward to more cities.

The PKL 2017 opening ceremony will be held in Hyderabad.
