Is Kid Rock running for US Senate? Tweets hint at it

Kid Rock is teasing that he will have a "major announcement in the near future", after calling a website devoted to a bid for Senate run the "real" deal.

American politics are about to go from bawitdabad to bawitdaworse, as self-proclaimed American badass and country-fried rap rocker Kid Rock has confirmed plans to run for the Senate.

The tweet quickly got a lot of attention, getting thousands of retweets and favorites, and the term Kid Rock immediately began trending on Twitter.

Just previous year, onetime country-rap singer "Kid Rock" (Robert James Ritchie) tweeted a photo of himself apparently holding his middle finger up in a Dekalb County, GA state court.

The rocker also launched a website, and tweeted that the website is indeed real.

Kid Rock, a supporter of President Donald Trump, performed at the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

Kid Rock's potential candidacy is news to Michigan Republicans. It is also not clear how serious he is about a run.

Speculation around the Rock as a presidential nominee ticked up in May, when GQ published an article with the headline "Dwayne Johnson for President!" Stabenow has held the seat since 2001.
