He had a few words of advice for Trump, who on Friday met with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
John Podesta rebuked President Trump on Friday for bringing up his infamous stolen documents during the G-20 Summit. But it was unclear why the president chose to attack Podesta at this time, according to Mediaite.
Mr Podesta added: "Dude, get your head in the game".
"Get a grip man, the Russians committed a crime when they stole my emails to help get you elected President", Podesta shot back. It was noted that advisers "nodded politely or ignored him" when he made a decision to address the subject, especially since the hacking of Podesta's emails are central to the whole Trump/Russia collusion investigation. BTW, I had nothing to do with the DNC. "You're representing the U.S. at the G20", Podesta tweeted. Russian sources reportedly gained access to DNC servers ahead of the 2016 Democratic National Convention, and WikiLeaks released a dump of those emails in the days before the convention in Philadelphia.
Trump used his most direct rhetoric yet toward Moscow, urging the Kremlin to "cease its destabilizing activities".
A longtime Clinton aide and powerful Democratic operative, Podesta has never been a DNC official, and Clinton was not yet the Democratic nominee at the time the DNC was hacked.
Several American intelligence agencies have concluded Russian Federation meddled in last year's USA elections, but Mr Trump has as recently as this week said he thinks other countries could have been responsible.
For some time, U.S. intelligence agencies have believed that Podesta's emails were hacked by the Russian government.
"I have no idea what he's talking about", an aide on the trip with Trump said.
"Yes, I'm sure that's the big talk at G20", he posted. "Not trade, climate change, refugees, North Korea, Syria ...they're talking about JOHN PODESTA?!?"
