Arsenal were linked with Mahrez last summer but a move failed to materialise for the Algeria worldwide.
Mahrez has been the subject of plenty of transfer speculation since he took the decision to release a statement at the end of May, saying he was "fiercely ambitious" and had "informed the club that I feel now is the time to move on".
"We have not made a bid for him but personally I like the player, yes". "Can it be disappointing when a player comes out publically? Yes. He's got a contract with us, so he has to understand that".
Mahrez recently submitted a transfer request and it is suggested that he has an understanding with Leicester that he will be allowed to leave after he showed loyalty to the club last summer - but seemingly only if an acceptable offer is made. "We don't know the value and we don't know the bid so until a bid comes in - it's not worth thinking about".
Mahrez reported back for pre-season on Friday and will travel with Leicester to Austria and then Hong Kong for the Premier League Asia Trophy against Liverpool, Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion. I will sit down with him because I think that's important.
"He has to be fully committed here and I expect him to do that".
"I've always had a decent relationship with him".
He added: "Ultimately, he's contracted to this football club. If they want to go and we get a bid, we'll reflect on it".
