OnePlus will take the wraps of OnePlus 5 on June 20, and the smartphone will be launched in India on June 22. OnePlus is inviting fans who have bought tickets for the event as well, and will give out codes for the OnePlus 5 as well.
The company seems to have quite a sizable ad budget for the OnePlus 5, considering the fact that advertising during the ICC Championship Trophy is not cheap.
Having leaked in bits and pieces for the past several weeks, the design of boutique Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus' upcoming flagship is hardly much of a mystery anymore. The advertisement featured Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, sneaking a lot into the OnePlus 5 and going 'Wow!'.
The upcoming flagship killer is to be released in two variants- the base variant will pack 6GB of RAM while the high-end variant is to be released with 8GB of RAM. According to OppoMart's listing, the OnePlus 5 is supposed to come with a 5.5-inch QHD display, which happens to be incorrect, as the company has hinted that its next flagship might stick to a Full HD display.
It will be launched in India with it's own unique event on the 22 June 4:30PM. You can go on Amazon India's OnePlus 5 landing page, and tap on the "Notify Me" button on the top banner.
The OnePlus 5 will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip (SoC) equipped with the Adreno 540 GPU, the OPPO Electronics-owned company confirmed. The release date is just a couple of days left and to keep the buzz blowing, the CEO has released the official camera sample of this phone. On par with earlier sayings, the OnePlus 5 will look like the Apple iPhone 7 Plus, especially, the dual rear camera setup is something users will hate.
Whatever the OnePlus 5 looks like, there is little doubt that it will be a fast-performing and powerful device running on the recent version of Android Nougat and an update of OnePlus' Oxygen OS.
