There have been plenty of Lakers rumors surrounding the team in recent days.
At this point, it seems unlikely that Lakers' front office will trade down in the draft losing their 2nd pick to acquire two first-rounders.
While the Los Angeles Lakers may select Ball with the second pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, it appears the Phoenix Suns are willing to take a chance on the talented point guard. Although the Celtics were the number one seed in the east their trade with the Brooklyn Nets back in 2013 afforded them the number one pick in this year's draft.
Magic Johnson, president of basketball operations, and general manager Rob Pelinka were the only representatives of the Lakers to attend Friday's workout, according to ESPN.
"The Suns have been trying to trade up and have had conversations with both the Lakers and Celtics". Majority are looking for players who will come in and start right away and see if they have someone they can build around.
With Fultz likely going No. 1 to Philly, the field narrows down to Ball, Jackson, Tatum and Fox here.
Detroit wants to trade the pick for a veteran player to help them win now.
Ball has not interviewed or worked out with any other teams in the hopes of being taken by his hometown Lakers. Already, the Pacers have talked to the Cleveland Cavaliers, which sounds intriguing for neutral NBA fans already eyeing the 2018 NBA Finals, but one imagines that the Pacers will benefit more from trading George to a team with younger assets on the roster. Seemingly, the choice comes down to whether the Lakers prefer Ball as a play-maker for the future or Jackson as an athletic wing player that can play defense and hopefully develop his shot.
