Miles Teller Was Arrested for Public Intoxication Over the Weekend

Miles Teller was arrested early Sunday morning in San Diego for public drunkenness, according to TMZ.

According to the outlet, the 30-year-old actor seemed visibly intoxicated, almost falling into the street and having difficulty standing in one place. Police later confirmed Teller was not to blame for the crash, insisting the other driver cut him off.

San Diego offers a detox program where cops will take someone who is drunk to a center run by volunteers.

Teller nearly lost his life in another scary auto accident at the beginning of his acting career, when he was 20.

Officers gave him the option of sleeping it off at one of the city's detox centers, but the 30-year-old Whiplash star allegedly did not cooperate.

However, he was unable to take care of himself and became unruly with the staff, so the police had no choice but to take him to jail.

PEOPLE reached out to his rep for comment and did not immediately hear back. According the Los Angeles Times, the "War Dogs" star was arrested and charged with public intoxication.

The actor was in a holding cell for four hours before he was finally released on bail.
