The Mirror have reported that Chelsea are searching for a replacement for Diego Costa, who is on the verge of a return to Atletico Madrid.

Jose Mourinho's former assistant at Real Madrid Aitor Karanka has insisted that Alvaro Morata will be a special player for Manchester United.

He told The Sun's Nick Rostron-Pike: "Alvaro Morata is not happy at Real Madrid".

And it is his inability to dethrone the Frenchman as the first-choice striker in the eyes of Zinedine Zidane that has frustrated Morata, who is now looking to move in order to secure better first-team opportunities for himself.

Conte was the man to bring Morata to Juventus before he left for the Italy job in 2014. The player, Manchester United and Real Madrid.

There have been rumours of Morata being on the brink of moving to Manchester United in the recent days.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku as well, but Conte's preference is thought to be Morata.

He is the real deal, and there is still much more to come.

As intense speculation continues to surround his club future, Alvaro Morata has put footballing matters to the back of his mind for the weekend after tying the knot with his fiancee in Venice.

Morata has worldwide teammates at both the clubs and he will have a tough job in choosing a team between the two.

Mourinho's club have identified Alexandre Lacazette as an ideal alternative to Morata if a deal is to fail for the Spanish global.

In an interview with The Guardian in April, he said: 'Various Premier League coaches called to tell me to play for them.
