Blaney, 23, entered the race 13th in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series standings at 320 points.

NOTES: After tying Cale Yarborough for sixth on the all-time wins list with his 83rd career victory last week at Dover International Speedway, Jimmie Johnson is just one win away from tying Darrell Waltrip and Bobby Allison for fourth.

“Itll be nice to be home.”.

Jones' plans for his stay in MI include spending time with his grandfather, who's 85; dining on Coney Islands and spending time with friends who attend Oakland University. Jones had the leaders in sight and was hoping they would get side-by-side so he could catch their draft.

Truex will start the race in the No. 78 Furniture Row/Denver Mattress Toyota Camry on the outside of the front row for the third time this season.

"The No. 77 GameStop/Cars 3: Driven to Win Toyota was just loose in all three corners", said Jones of his second session lap.

"But aside from that, I will cheer up and thank everybody involved in this process". "I'm trying to prove to everybody that I belong here". We've been pretty damn good for my first start here. "They've all been racing at this level for so long". Rounding out the top 10 were Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, pole-sitter Kyle Busch and Matt Kenseth.

Blaney, meanwhile, joined Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Austin Dillon as first-time Cup winners this season, and was happy to "finally add our name to that group". He was super-fast.

With 10 laps to go, Ryan Blaney got by Busch, en route to winning his first-career race.

“Hes wearing this mullet so he kind of knows how to pick on himself and doesnt take himself too seriously, ” Earnhardt said. "I think he has a great personality - I would encourage him to show that more".

Everyone @TeamBKR is so proud to see you reach the top. Blaney drives for the Wood Brothers, one of the most storied teams in all of NASCAR.

Pam Miller, producer for "NASCAR On Fox", said the broadcast was a success and there was a "high probability" the network would try the device again. "I can't change what people have been brought up to think and believe". Its hard to be relaxed. I feel that's when it's time to go to work. I was waiting for (the Cup car) to turn and get down to the bottom and get pointed, and I didn't muscle it up.

Jones didn't intend to grow the mullet.

With three wins, Johnson is already safely in the playoff field, so another poor result won't matter much in the grand scheme of things. It eventually got pretty long. I was heading to the grass, and I was wondering why I didn't turn right and get to the wall sooner, but I'm fine.

"I was booed during driver introductions for no reasons that I could appreciate", he said.

Jones has started two races at MIS, one in the truck series and one Xfinity event.

"It's my first time qualifying at one of these things and I messed up a lot", he said. So I had to be very aware of where I let off every lap.

“There will be a few extra fans to cheer on myself and Brad (Rochester Hills native Brad Keselowski).”.

It's race weekend in the Poconos! Busch started on the pole for the second consecutive race. Harvick cut into the deficit, though, over the course of the remainder of the first stage, closing to within two seconds by lap 50.

"Second two weeks in a row stinks, but it's a good starting spot for Sundayand I'm looking forward to the auto tomorrow for race trim and see if we can get another win here at Pocono".
