'Super Mario Odyssey' sparkles, blows minds Nintendo's new home and portable console, the Switch, appears to be on track for a strong first year, supported by successive releases of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and soon Splatoon 2.

The player in control of Cappy is also invincible, so there's no need to worry about dying or messing up while you're in control of the magical cap.

Cappy is also unbeatable. Mario will control its running, jumping, and camera but, will not be able to control Cappy in co-op mode. However, during the event, Nintendo did drop a hint that Mario could control Cappy in some way, but how, it was not revealed in the demo. Players will be able to fly around, attack enemies and do actions that Mario is not capable of doing, according to IGN. Or even a more advanced version of Super Mario Galaxy's co-op where the second player could point a Wiimote at the screen and pick up collectables.

Similar to Super Mario Galaxy, where players took control of a star and could float around Mario and assist him, the co-op for Super Mario Odyssey allows a second player to join in at any time and control Mario's hat, Cappy. Super Mario 3D World is really the sort of co-op action people are after.

"I$3 t felt completely different and new to come up with ideas that would work [in Super Mario Odyssey]".

The trailer, seen below, shows Mario on a 3-D adventure across multiple worlds as he seeks to rescue Princess Peach from the evil Bowser. "Super Mario Odyssey" is scheduled to arrive for the Nintendo Switch on October 27.
