Mike Pence Hired a Personal Lawyer to Handle the Russia Investigation

Vice President Mike Pence will travel to Central and South America in August.

Vice President Pence has lawyered up.

Pence's office confirms he has hired Richard Cullen, who served as USA attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia during the term of George H.W. Bush and later worked on George W. Bush's legal team during the 2000 Florida recount.

Vice President Mike Pence has hired outside legal counsel to help him navigate the investigations into possible ties between President Donald Trump's campaign and Russian Federation, according a new report.

Special prosecutor Robert Mueller has been on the job for nearly a month and already Vice President Mike Pence is getting his own lawyer.

Pence spokesman Jarrod Agen confirmed the hire and said the Vice President wants a "swift" resolution.

Mueller is investigating alleged Russian interference in the 2016 USA presidential election and possible collusion with the Trump campaign.

On Wednesday, it was reported that special counsel Robert Mueller is looking at whether the President attempted to obstruct justice.

Trump has denied any collusion took place.

Comey testified last week that the President demanded loyalty and pressed him to drop a probe into disgraced ex-national security adviser Michael Flynn. Former FBI Director James Comey told Congress last week he believes he was sacked by Trump to undermine the agency's Russian Federation probe.
