As Aisha explained her decision to leave, she was surrounded by her supportive co-hosts.
LOS ANGELES The daytime TV show "The Talk" is losing one of its co-hosts.
Aisha Tyler is leaving The Talk after six years.
Tyler admitted that she's been busy over the years, taking on a number of gigs that, certainly, must occupy her time from morning to night. The rest of the lineup is comprised of Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert and Sharon Osborne, who have all been there since the show debuted in October 2010.
Tyler was in tears when she made her announcement. She's recently been promoted from recurring character to series regular on the CBS drama Criminal Minds.
"I have had an incredible six years with you guys", she told her colleagues. Sometimes it's painful. Sometimes it's handsome. She told her fellow panelists and the audience that she's simply become too busy. "Our friendships are so precious to me, and the thing I'm going to miss most is all of the time we get to spend together when we're not on camera". After the announcement, she later posted a photo with her co-hosts with the caption, "Love Always". She also cited the success of Wonder Woman and the likes of Ava DuVernay for making her realize "this is a really important time for female directors". Instead, smile because it happened. "This is my home, I'm going to come back to guest host, promote my movies here, I'm going to promote my shows here, I'm going to be haunting you".
