Durant's non-foul looms large in Warriors' game-deciding run

As the focal point of one of the greatest teams ever assembled, Durant has the opportunity to take over from LeBron, who appears unlikely to be able to compete with Golden State with the Cavaliers not in a position to add a player who can redress the balance.

"They're assembled as good as you can assemble, and I played against some really, really good teams that was assembled perfectly, and they're right up there".

The Warriors secured a 129-120 victory on Monday to take their second title in three seasons and cap a near-perfect run through the play-offs.

They better be after their Game 4 flop in Cleveland. "It's kind of insane to think about the conversations we had this summer and going into the year about how we can both mesh and do what we do and be the players that we are and (to) see it come to life in this series, it was unbelievable".

Green had sat out this very game a year ago, suspended because of flagrant foul point accumulation after he swiped at James' groin in Game 4.

By contrast, NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant, who joined the Warriors last July, has a supporting cast that won a record-setting 73 regular season games last season.

Sometimes lost in all the chatter about a possible Warriors' dynasty is the fact that Golden State plays handsome, often unselfish team ball. If you've been fortunate enough to see your team win before, you may be looking forward to experiencing it again. Even with all their talent it wasn't easy, as Boston needed seven games to beat Philadelphia in the Eastern Division finals and then seven more in the NBA Finals - the last going to overtime - to beat Los Angeles.

All-Stars that season: Abdul-Jabbar, Robertson, coach Larry Costello. "I've been so lucky to be part of so many championship teams as a player and now as a coach, and it never gets old". Milwaukee clobbered teams by 12.2 points per game and increased that to an NBA-best 14.5 per game in the postseason.

For a handful of team that are close to the top, such as Houston or San Antonio, teams with elite players in their prime, they need to be thinking about winning right now.

Kyrie Irving followed up his 40-point gem in Friday's Game 4 with 26 points, but he shot 9 for 22. Chamberlain's 19.2 rebounds per game topped the league. This granted them the number one pick in the draft three different times.

Following the Warriors winning their second National Basketball Association title in the last three years, it has placed Curry on an exclusive club in National Basketball Association history, according to Carl Steward of the San Jose Mercury News. "Because they're built for - from my eyes, they're built to last a few years". Overcame a 63-point performance from Michael Jordan in a first-round sweep of Chicago, but had to settle for beating Houston in the NBA Finals after the Rockets knocked off the hated Lakers in the West finals.

Warriors fans had to suffer through watching their team blow a 3-1 series lead past year. Jordan led the league in scoring and Rodman in rebounding, and their three stars were perhaps the league's best defensive players at their positions, making it almost impossible to score against the Bulls at times. Both teams breezed through the playoffs.

Future Hall of Famers on team: To be determined. For the first two games of the Finals, Cleveland was flat-footed, trying to adjust to playing at the pace and level of the Warriors, but the final three games LeBron James and company stood toe-to-toe with the Warriors - and still lost two-of-three of them.
