Impact of the new Apple App Store on app developers

Many content providers give out their products for free, and rely on tips to create revenue.

So if you are a developer, you can now add the tipping feature into your application.

Apple launched their new operating system, the iOS 11, at this year's Worldwide Developer Conference, which happened from June 5 to 9. Medium's Johnny Lin stresses out in the said report that not all of that huge sum of money in necessarily legitimate as some developers are abusing Apple's in-app purchase feature, as well as the App Store search ads.

To put an end to the app review prompts Apple have designed new rules regarding app review prompts and how frequently the developers are permitted to request them.

Google is known to have a less stringent app review policy than Apple, which often takes a week or more to approve new app submissions.

A big update also is the removal of Top grossing charts which acted as an index for big App intelligence firms (like AppAnnie, PrioriData) to estimate revenues from the App store - this will make studying the competition and market even more hard for developers.

Coombs goes on to say that users will always be given the choice between "Never, When in Use and Always" when the app is first used, so you can have your Uber and uh, eat it too.

That top spot translates to a lot of downloads, many of which (either knowingly or, more likely, unknowingly) become paying subscribers. According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple told Chinese social media apps to disable their tipping functions or be kicked out of the company's app store.

I get that app reviewers are fallible human beings. Additionally, once an app has been reviewed, it can't display the review request message again - even after major app updates and overhauls.

This story doesn't stop there, though, because the developers at Spirit Realm Games tried to play it off like they had no idea that Pepe was anything more than a amusing internet meme-a point of view that would require someone to have stayed off the internet for over a year.

Established App store brands and relatively larger developers will be magnified even more but ASO experiments can drive growth for all.
