Manchester United must pay €100m clause to sign Andrea Belotti - Torino

According to recent reports, United are battling AC Milan for his signature, with the Rossoneri serious in signing the Italy worldwide.

Having signed a new deal earlier in the campaign, Torino are under no pressure to sell their prized asset and Cairo believes even if the €100m (£87million) release clause is triggered Belotti is committed to staying put.

Jose Mourinho is after the Italian who scored 26 Serie A goals last season - in a side that only finished ninth - ahead of £70m Juve ace Gonzalo Higuain.

The striker had been linked to Arsenal as well as Serie A's AC Milan; but it looks like Manchester United are in prime position to bring Belotti to Old Trafford.

UNITED have a fight on with Paris St-Germain for £88million Torino star Andrea Belotti, according to reports in France.

"I care about Belotti and I'm keeping hold of him", Cairo told Italy's Radio 24.

"After that, there is a release clause that would make me obliged to sell him, providing someone came in with €100m from overseas".

"Belotti is now with the Italian national team as they prepare to play a World cup qualifying game".

I want to keep Belotti as he has a contract until 2021. "I think he wants to stay here with us at Torino".

"We are trying to build the best possible team at Torino".

Belotti is one of a number of strikers now being courted by the Old Trafford club ahead of this summer's transfer window.

Belotti is with the Italy squad, who have matches against Uruguay and Liechtenstein this week.
